Yellow Stars

It's finally beginning to feel like Fall, and the front yard is covered with leaves from the liquid amber tree ~ it looks like hundreds of yellow stars. The glowing orange and burning red leaves on the neighbors' japanese maples are so breathtaking too. I love this time of year. The sky is blue again after the first rain and the air is so crisp. I love taking walks and hearing the leaves crunch underfoot, and the smell of burning wood in fireplaces. Fall is so refreshing after a long hot summer. I'm so glad it's finally here.

The Best Days of My Life

The kite my dad sent me in the mail the year I moved to New York. Learning to swim. Being at the ocean, playing in the sand. My mom making breakfast for dinner. Swimming in Hanalei, Kauai at night, the waves glowing. Around-the-island moped trip with Sally in Oahu. Collecting blue beach glass on the North Shore. Snorkeling for shells. Collecting shells in Mendocino with Mum. Learning to surf. Drinking rum and pineapples on the beach in Varadero, Cuba, being serenaded by La Sugarencia. Seeing whales migrate by our house in Cardiff. Swimming with dolphins in Hawaii. The day Abby Grace was born. Baja - 30th b-day celebration with chica - and some strong margaritas! Pajaritas in Mexico. Hundreds of Sea Stars on the Oregon Coast. Birdie and G's wedding in Rosarito. Cooking with Sasi in France, learning French. Hula. Learning Hawaiian. Making leis. The plumeria and papaya trees in our yard in Hawaii. Taking Bug to the beach in Santa Cruz. Getting Coco. Spur of the moment trips to San Francisco with my mama. Meeting Rob, and every day since.
